Back Pain, Living Will, Stress, CPR and Foot Screening Events in November

Myrtle Beach, SC - Grand Strand Regional will sponsor community health seminars and screenings in November at HealthFinders at Coastal Grand Mall. Events are free and open to the public, unless noted. Call 692-4444 to pre-register or for more information.
Neurosurgeon Thomas Anderson, MD, will discuss Back Pain on Tuesday, November 5, 6 – 7 p.m. Treatments to help improve quality of life as well as prevention tips will be discussed.
“Five Wishes” for End of Life Care is the topic on Wednesday, November 6, 10 – 11 a.m. The importance of documenting your wishes if faced with a life threatening healthcare issue will be discussed by a hospice representative. Healthcare power of attorney, living will and DNR documents will be reviewed and available free of charge.
Family & Friends CPR classes will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Wednesday, November 20, 3 – 5 p.m. at the YMCA in Myrtle Beach. The two-hour course is open to anyone 12 years of age and older who wants to learn Adult CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver for choking. Registration is $15 and pre-registration and pre-payment are required at 692-4444.
Reducing Holiday Stress is the topic on Monday, November 25, 6 – 7 p.m. Topics will include recognizing stress triggers and coping mechanisms.
