Free Health Seminars in March 2013

Myrtle Beach, SC - Grand Strand Regional Medical Center will sponsor free seminars on heart disease, back pain, lung cancer, stroke and heart attack signs, and toenail fungus in March.  All seminars are held at HealthFinders at the Coastal Grand Mall unless noted.

Cardiologist David Truluck, MD, will discuss Heart Disease risk factors and how to reduce the risk of having a heart attack on Thursday, March 7, 10 - 11 a.m. 

Back Pain evaluation and treatments is the topic on Tuesday, March 19, 10 – 11 a.m., with neurosurgeon Thomas Anderson, MD.

Signs, symptoms, and the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment of Lung Cancer will be presented on Wednesday, March 20, 3 – 4 p.m. by Grand Strand Regional cardiothoracic navigator, Cindy Kane, nurse practitioner.

Minutes Matter is the topic on Tuesday, March 26, 3 – 4 p.m.  Grand Strand Regional cardiac educator, Debbie Kirkman, RN, and Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue staff will discuss the signs of stroke, heart attack, and sudden cardiac arrest and what happens following the 911 call.  Participants will learn hands-only CPR.  This seminar is being held at the YMCA on 62nd Avenue N. and Bypass 17. 

Podiatrist Jordanna Baker, DPM, will discuss the causes and cures for Toenail Fungus on Wednesday, March 27, 6 – 7 p.m.
