Grand Strand Regional and Medical Staff Donate Defibrillator to YMCA
June 18, 2010
Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and the Grand Strand Regional medical staff recently donated an automatic defibrillator for children and adults to the Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA. The defibrillator is used for cardiac arrest. Grand Strand Regional is the cardiovascular healthcare partner for the YMCA and cardiologist Billy Jackson, MD, spearheaded the donation.
“We hope it never has to be used, but having a defibrillator and staff trained to use the equipment, greatly increases a person chance of survival following cardiac arrest,” said Dr. Jackson.
“The hospital and medical staff are pleased to donate this equipment to the YMCA.”
