Carolina Forest Senior Health Center Holds Open House & Ice Cream Social
July 28, 2010
The Carolina Forest Senior Health Center, specializing in primarily medical care for adults, age 55+, will hold an open house and ice cream social on Thursday, August 12 from 2 – 4 pm. The Senior Health Center is at 199 Village Center, south of the intersection of International Drive and River Oaks Drive.
The open house is an opportunity to tour the facility and meet the Center’s board certified geriatric specialists, Romeo Nillas, MD and Kevin Craig, MD. In addition, blood pressure and hearing screenings will be available.
The Senior Health Center opened in May 2008 as the third senior health center in the area. Senior health centers only see patients age 55 and above and staff are specially trained to address and meet the needs of older adults. First appointments may last over an hour so the physician has an opportunity to understand the patent’s medical history and needs.
Adults have access to primary health care, diagnostic services and referrals, health screening and seminars and the expertise of financial and community resource specialists. Medicare assignment is accepted.
“These past two years in Carolina Forest have been wonderful,” said Romeo Nillas, MD, Senior Health Center physician. “We have two board certified geriatric specialists and a dedicated staff. Our goal is to help adults transition smoothly as they age.”
The Carolina Forest Senior Health Center is a department of Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Other Senior Health Centers are in Little River and south Myrtle Beach. For more information, call 692-4444 or 236-5700.
