Free Health Seminar Hosted by Grand Strand Regional in November

Myrtle Beach, SC - Grand Strand Regional Medical Center will sponsor seminars on hemorrhoids, diabetes, stroke awareness, Alzheimer’s and heart healthy recipes at HealthFinders at Coastal Grand Mall in November. Physicians and hospital staff members will speak at the free community seminars.
Cardiologist Erol Lale, MD, will share his recipes for delicious heart healthy options during the holidays on Thursday, November 8, 6 -7 p.m. Recipes and samples will be available.
The Aging Brain: Alzheimer’s and Dementia is the topic on Tuesday, November 13,
10 – 11 a.m. Geriatric neuropsychiatrist William Van Horn, MD, will discuss signs, symptoms and treatments.
Cynthia Kane, cardiothoracic navigator, and Gina Carbino, RN, will speak on identifying stroke symptoms, causes, risk factors, treatments and the importance of immediate medical attention on Tuesday, November 13, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Diabetes and non healing wounds is the topic on Wednesday, November 14, 6 -7 p.m.
Podiatrist Scott Hamilton, DPM, will discuss why wounds and diabetes are a bad combination and what can be done to help heal a diabetic wound.
Gastroenterologist Andrew Pearson, MD, will discuss prevention, causes, symptoms and treatments for hemorrhoids on Thursday, November 15, 6 - 7 p.m.
