American Red Cross Blood Drive

Thursday, June 28, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

 

Safe Sitter Babysitting Classes

June 27, July 12, July 26*, August 9    

10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

A seven-hour national babysitting course for 11 – 13 year olds.  The class teaches safe and nurturing childcare techniques, behavioral management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies including first aid, CPR and how to relieve choking.

Fee: $35 includes book bag and materials.  Registration required: 692-4444.

La Leche Breastfeeding Group

Thursday, June 7, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Helping mothers breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement and information.  This is a women’s only group.

Saturday, June 9, 4 - 5:30 p.m. 

 Camp Seven Seas & Air Waves

Monday – Friday, June 11 – 15, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This is Grand Strand Regional Medical Center’s day camp for children with asthma or diabetes! Kids will enjoy education, field trips, arts & crafts, and more! Registration has closed for this camp.

Diabetes Support Group - Counting those Carbs

Tuesday, June 26, 3 – 4 p.m.

Natalie Martinez, RD, will discuss carbohydrate counting, portion size and food label reading.

 Pre-Diabetes Class

Tuesday, June 26, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Have abnormal blood sugars but have not been diagnosed with diabetes?  Denise Wilson, RN, BSN, CDE, will review diagnostic criteria, risk factors and lifestyle changes that can prevent/slow the development of Type 2 diabetes. Fee: $10. Attendees receive a certificate for a discounted A1c test.

In a little more than an hour, you can be screened with painless, non-invasive, ultrasound technology for stroke, aneurysms and heart disease.  $149 for five preventive health screenings.

Walk-In Health Screenings – Monday - Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Cholesterol, blood pressure, A1c and weight screenings on a walk-in basis.  Finger stick cholesterol screening, $7; lipid profile requires a 12 hour fast, $20; A1c testing, $20. No charge for blood pressure and weight. 

Ask the PharmacistFridays, 2 – 4 p.m.  Bring your medication for review. One on one consults. 

Prime of Life Yoga - Tuesdays, 11 a.m. – Noon.  Fee: $8 per class.  No class June 12.

Hatha Yoga Classes - Fridays, 11 a.m. – Noon.  Fee: $8 per class.  No class June 1 and 15.
