American Red Cross Blood Drive Thursday, June 28, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Safe Sitter Babysitting Classes June 27, July 12, July 26*, August 9 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. A seven-hour national babysitting course for 11 – 13 year olds. The class teaches safe and nurturing childcare techniques, behavioral management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies including first aid, CPR and how to relieve choking. La Leche Breastfeeding Group

Natalie Martinez, RD, will discuss carbohydrate counting, portion size and food label reading.
Pre-Diabetes Class
Tuesday, June 26, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Have abnormal blood sugars but have not been diagnosed with diabetes? Denise Wilson, RN, BSN, CDE, will review diagnostic criteria, risk factors and lifestyle changes that can prevent/slow the development of Type 2 diabetes. Fee: $10. Attendees receive a certificate for a discounted A1c test.

Cholesterol, blood pressure, A1c and weight screenings on a walk-in basis. Finger stick cholesterol screening, $7; lipid profile requires a 12 hour fast, $20; A1c testing, $20. No charge for blood pressure and weight.
