Heart Risk Assessments Offered August 17-18

Myrtle Beach, SC - Grand Strand Regional Medical Center is offering heart risk assessments for adults on August 17 – 18 at HealthFinders are Coastal Grand Mall.
The assessment includes a lipid profile blood screening, risk profile, EKG with review by a board certified cardiologist and a physician seminar to discuss results. There is a $50 fee for the assessment. A 12 hour fast is required for the lipid profile.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, claiming the lives of nearly one million Americans every year. The heart risk assessment is based on information from the Framingham Heart Study.
The assessment predicts your risk for developing cardiovascular disease. Risk factors contributing to heart disease include smoking, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes and overweight.
