October Cholesterol Screenings

As part of Grand Strand Regional Medical Center’s monthly screening program, the following cholesterol screenings have been scheduled for October: Finger-stick screenings are scheduled for:
Wednesday, October 5, 10 am - noon at Grand Strand Senior Center,
1268 21st Avenue North and Thursday, October 6, 11 am – noon at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Total cholesterol, lipid profile and blood pressure screenings will be held at the YMCA,
62nd Avenue N. extension, on Thursday, October 6 and 20, 9:30 – 10:30 am.
The finger-stick screening measures total cholesterol and results are available in less than three minutes. There is a $7 fee for the total cholesterol screening and $20 for the lipid panel.
Total cholesterol screenings and a lipid profile (HDL, LDL and triglycerides) are available at HealthFinders at Coastal Grand Mall, Monday - Saturday, 10 am – 7:30 pm on a walk-in basis. A 12-hour fast is required for the lipid profile.
