Dr. John Davis
Dr. Davis has been involved with medical education for his entire career beginning at Cornell Medical School (now Weill Medical School of Cornell University). While at Cornell, he chaired what has become the Clinical Competency Committee and ran the third and fourth year surgical clerkship programs. While at Jersey shore University Medical Center, Dr. Davis, the first full-time faculty member from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, supervised the integration of the surgical residency program from Robert Wood into the hospital. He also began surgical clerkships for both third and fourth year Robert Wood Johnson students. In June 2015, he joined the staff at Grand Strand Medical Center to serve as Program Director of Surgery. Dr. Davis graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and did his internship at Cornell University Medical Center in New York City. He did a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health with Dr. John Gallin and was on the full-time faculty at Weill Medical School of Cornell University and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has over 200 abstracts, presentations books, book chapters and scientific articles in peer reviewed journals. He is a charter member of the Surgical Infection Society and a member of the Society University Surgeons. He has numerous NIH and industrial grants. He currently holds faculty appointments at University of South Carolina and VCOM as Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Jason Sciarretta
Dr. Sciarretta has been a trauma and acute care surgeon with Grand Strand Health since 2012. He was appointed Associate Program Director of Surgery in October 2015. He has been extremely active in clinical research studies with over 20 peer reviewed publications. He also has numerous presentations to his credit. Dr. Sciarretta graduated from Saba University School of Medicine in 2005. He completed his surgical residency at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky and his Trauma-Critical Care Fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/Ryder Trauma Center in 2012. He is immediate past Chair of Surgery.

Sharon Holmes, RN, BSN is the NSQIP clinical reviewer. She chairs the CLER subcommittee of the GMEC and is developing the Quality-In-Training-Initiative (QITI).
