Joint pain sometimes goes away on its own after some good rest, but it can linger and be a sign of a problem. Often, people find that their joints are sore when the temperatures drop.

"Hip and knee pain is a common issue for patients during the winter months," said Orthopaedic Surgeon Justin Brothers, MD, with Strand Orthopaedic Consultants. "Sometimes over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications are not enough to ease the pain. Fortunately, that's where we can help."

Dr. Brothers will be speaking about knee replacement surgery on Tuesday, January 23 from 6:00 - 7:00pm at HealthFinders to help our communities understand more about what they can do for achy knees. He will explain who qualifies as a candidate for knee replacement, the procedure and what to expect during recovery.
