New Managers/Staff Join Grand Strand Regional Medical Center

Alison Burns, registered nurse and certified emergency nurse, has joined the hospital as trauma program director. Alison is responsible for coordinating the hospital’s program for a Level II trauma designation from the American College of Surgeons. Previously, Alison was trauma program manager and emergency preparedness coordinator at Memorial Regional Hospital/Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, in Hollywood, FL. Allison earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Florida International University.
Timi McMullin has joined Grand Strand Regional Medical Center as marketing assistant. Timi previously worked for the William Floyd School District, Mastic Beach, NY.
Carol Ruscello, registered nurse, has been named nurse manager of 2 North at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Carol joined the hospital in 1998 and previously worked as an administrative nurse supervisor. Carol earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Alleghany Community College, Pittsburgh, PA.
Steven Thornton, certified healthcare safety professional, has joined the hospital as safety officer, overseeing the safety of the environment including security and emergency management. Steven earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah, GA, and is a master’s level certified healthcare safety professional.
Doris Trimble has joined the hospital as Health Information Management (HIM) director. Previously Doris worked at Bourbon Community Hospital in Lexington, KY, as HIM director and has over 20 years of experience in medical records and performance improvement. Doris is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in health information management.
